Chapter 12. Enterprise Portal

After reading this chapter you will know how to create .aspx pages in SharePoint based on the templates that come with the Enterprise Portal. You will also learn how to create Dynamics AX User Controls that will expose data from AX to the Enterprise Portal.

Dynamics 2009 has taken a huge step in regards to development of web content. In previous versions of AX you could publish web content using web parts defined in AX. These web parts are now being phased out and will no longer be available in the next version of AX. That means that everything you see in the AOT under Web will be gone. This makes it even more important to learn how to use the new Enterprise Portal development framework for AX.
