Workflows with Notification

Service Manager 2010 includes the functionality for you to configure a number of default workflows and author your own custom workflows. A workflow is a sequence of activities that automates a process; for example, it can pick information from a change request and carry out tasks in Active Directory based on the information in the change request. A workflow can also update and modify work items within Service Manager (such as change priority of an incident work item). Incident workflows can apply a template to an incident and send notification emails. You can use the Service Manager console to build workflows around

  • Desired Configuration Management event workflow

  • Activity event workflow

  • Incident event workflow
