IIS Management

The IIS Manager has undergone extensive surgery. It can be accessed via its role area within Server Manager, via its shortcut in Administrative Tools, or by running Inetmgr directly.

The IIS Manager’s main start page is based around commonly used activities, as shown in Figure 24-10. The start page is grouped by recent connections, allowing connections to the localhost, a specific server, a site, or to an application, in addition to links of various online resources. Also displayed are IIS News items, which are disabled by default. However, they do give useful information about new modules for IIS and other resources.
