13.9. Delegating: Child domains/Subdomains

As you learned when I explained how the DNS hierarchy works, the minasi.com and bigfirm.com zones are nothing more than child domains or subdomains of the "com" domain. But sometimes you'll want to create child domains of your own from your DNS domains, so let's look at how to accomplish that.

13.9.1. Revising Bigfirm

We've got bigfirm.com running well. But suppose we wanted to delegate control of a portion of the enterprise to another group, to give them the ability to control their DNS servers — how exactly would we do that? More specifically, suppose we wanted to create a bigfirm.com enterprise like the one in Figure 13.20?
