Chapter 7. Upgrading Your Existing Microsoft PKI

If you have an existing Microsoft Windows public key infrastructure (PKI) deployed, the process of migrating to Windows Server 2008 is different than implementing a new deployment (which is discussed in Chapter 6).

This chapter looks at the supported scenarios for upgrading from a previous version of Certificate Services to Windows Server 2008 Active Directory Certificate Services. The chapter then provides details on performing the actual upgrade. The details include preparations before the in-place upgrade, the actual upgrade process, and post-upgrade decisions that must be made.
