If it runs in a user account context, it can do whatever that account can do. The importance of service accounts is cov- ered in more detail in the later section of this chapter titled "Understanding Service Accounts." F I G U r e 4 . 3 Viewing the Log On tab of a service Managing Services The primary tasks related to service management are starting, stopping, and restarting services. In addition to these tasks, you must configure the services, as addressed in the preceding section. Starting Services Services can be started using the same three methods you learned in the pre- ceding section for stopping them. To start a service in the Services GUI, use the following procedure: 1. Click Start and search for Services.msc and press the Enter key. 2. Select the service you want to start and click the Start button on the toolbar. 3. Right-click the service and select Start. 4. Click the Start option on the Action menu, or double-click on the service and click the Start button on the General tab.
