Part V: Premium Edition Features > Adding a Terminal Server

Chapter 26. Adding a Terminal Server

One of the potential uses for the second server that the Microsoft Windows Small Business Server (SBS) Premium Add-on includes is to configure it as a Terminal Server. Or, more properly, a Remote Desktop Session Host (RD Session Host). With the new RD Session Host features that are available in Windows Server 2008 R2, we think this is a very compelling option, and one that we’ve already implemented in our office.

Note:

Throughout this chapter, we’ll refer to terminal server (lowercase) when we want to talk about the general functionality but will use the formal new name, RD Session Host, when we’re explicitly talking about enabling or configuring the role in Windows Server 2008 R2.
