Converting to NTFS with convert

The NTFS file system provides several different benefits, and using it on Windows 7 drives is highly recommended. The primary benefit is security. You can add permissions to files and folders and even encrypt them.

However, there are several other benefits, such as the capability to work with larger data files. For example, if you try to copy a file larger than 4 GB from an NTFS drive to a FAT32 drive, you’ll be informed that the destination drive doesn’t have enough space. Even if you have an empty 1-TB drive, you’ll still see the same error if you try to copy a file larger than 4 GB. There is a simple solution. Convert the FAT32 drive to NTFS, and you’ll be able to copy the larger files.
