Chapter 7. Scheduling Batch Files > Scheduling Batch Files with Task Scheduler

Scheduling Batch Files with Task Scheduler

After you’ve created a batch file, you can automate it. In other words, you don’t always have to start the batch file from the command prompt. Instead, you can schedule it to run regularly without any user interaction. As mentioned in Chapter 5, “Manipulating Disks,” you use Task Scheduler in Windows 7 to schedule tasks.

You can launch Task Scheduler by clicking Start, entering Task in the Start Search text box, and selecting Task Scheduler. Figure 7-1 shows Task Scheduler with a script in the Task Scheduler Library.
