Rather than spend a lot of time in the front matter of the book explaining “who should read this book,” I opted for this section. After all, if you have picked up a book on vCenter Orchestrator, you have already identified yourself as part of the target audience.
Who in your organization should be using vCO? I can’t pretend to prescribe that to you because ultimately it depends on what you will be using vCO for. If you are striving for the “self-service portal” type of flexibility mentioned earlier, you will have any number of folks from across your organization logging in. These may include your IT administrators, managers, or delegates from other departments who request new VMs or VM maintenances. If you choose to expose less functionality to your end users, the cast of players changes again. At a minimum, however, you want at least your vSphere administrators to have access along with whoever is designing the workflows or business processes.
