Add Instant Messaging Contacts to OWA

OWA is integrated with Lync Online in a number of ways. For example, you can see the online availability of your colleagues through the use of “presence” indicators. In Figure 8-6, the green indicator shows that both Andy and Kim are currently online and available. This feature is also enabled in Outlook.

In some cases, rather than replying by mail, it can be faster to start an instant messaging session. Because Andy can see that Kim is online, even if he is on the road and using a computer at a convention, he can right-click Kim’s name and start a web-based instant messaging session, as shown in Figure 8-7.
