Chapter 34. OS Mix and Match > Macintosh and Windows

Macintosh and Windows

Has a friend ever given you a Macintosh disk and asked if you can read it, or have you wanted to run a particularly cool Mac program and been bummed that you can't? Well, think again.

Reading and writing Mac disks is pretty simple. Actually, the Mac can read and write PC disks, so that is one way around this hassle. Just give the colleague a formatted PC disk and ask him to copy the files you want onto the floppy. Or, you might try a program called Mac-In-DOS. We've tried that and like it. It works in the PC and reads, formats, and writes Mac disks in the PC floppy drive. Search for it on the Web for about $100, or download a free demo.
