Exiting a Program

When you finish working in a program, close it to free system memory. (Your system memory is the working area of the computer where data and programs are stored temporarily while you are working within the program and on a document.) Too many open programs can tax your system’s memory and slow the computer’s processes.

Caution

If you have not saved changes to the document and you close that program, you are prompted to save. To save the document, click Yes. To close the document without saving, click No. (Do this if you don’t need the document or want to abandon any changes you made.) To return to the document without exiting the program, click Cancel.
