Turning Firewall Systems On and Off

Vista’s firewall is automatically turned on at installation time, but if you install antivirus software that installer might have installed its own firewall as well, and perhaps disabled Vista’s. To see which firewalls are installed on your computer and their status, visit the Security Center and click the “Show me the firewall programs on this computer” link. You see something similar to Figure 8.3 detailing your current configuration. You can enable and disable firewalls from this window.
