Some video cards and laptops can be plugged in to a TV monitor or regular TV that has video input. But displaying computer output on a TV monitor is problematic for a couple of reasons. For starters, some video display cards don’t let you run the TV at anything higher than 640×480 resolution. Also, TV sets (as opposed to professional TV monitors) often over-scan, pushing the edges of the image off the edge of the screen.
