People expect Web pages to do more than just display information. They want to click onscreen buttons that whisk them away to new pages. And they expect those buttons to light up or do something when the mouse passes over them or look like they're in the up or down position.
With Macromedia Fireworks you can easily create interactive elements using behavior commands. For instance, a simple rollover behavior changes the appearance of a button as the mouse passes over it. A more complex behavior gives users four different looks as the user moves over the area and clicks the button. Behaviors also let visitors move the cursor over one area to display pictures or animations elsewhere on the page. Behaviors also let you create pop-up menus with a list of choices.
Interface designers know that adding behaviors to Web pages is a great way to give visual feedback to the navigational elements. (They're also lots of fun to play with!)
