A production often goes out and takes pictures of a live area that needs to be sewn together for a matte painting. The merging of multiple pictures is referred to as stitching pictures. Most of the time the pictures are professionally shot with proper alignment, overlap, and exposures, and the only thing you have to worry a bit about is lens distortion and perspective tweaking. But there is always a time when the pictures are a bit skewed, and despite being set on the same exposure, the colors don’t quite match up. I show you some techniques for dealing with that.
