Dot Gain

The Spot Channels default dot gain for press is usually 20%. Dot gain refers to the amount of spread of the ‘dot’ or drop of ink on a given paper stock. Coated papers (gloss) produce little dot gain. Uncoated papers absorb more ink and consequently have more spreading or dot gain.
