More Ways to Import Photos > Importing from Picture CDs

Importing from Picture CDs

iPhoto can also import images saved on a Kodak Picture CD.

To get photos from a Kodak Picture CD, choose Import to Library from iPhoto’s File menu, locate the Picture CD, and then locate and double-click the folder named Pictures. Finally, click the Import button. Or, use the Finder to open the Pictures folder on the CD and then drag images into iPhoto’s window.

Photo CD. Kodak previously used an older format called Photo CD that you aren’t likely to see too often. You can import the images from these discs by putting the disc in your optical drive and then choosing File > Import to Library; in the window that appears, select the Photo CD and click Import.

Where iPhoto Stores Your Photos

When you import photos, iPhoto stores them in the iPhoto Library, located inside the Pictures folder. (If you like, you can store your iPhoto Library elsewhere, such as on an external hard drive. For details, see page 137.)
