Red-Eye Removal

Red eye is a common problem with flash photography. It often occurs in low-light conditions, because the subject’s iris is wide open and light reflects in the retina.

Many digital cameras include a red-eye-reduction mode that works by sending out a series of pre-flashes to contract the pupils enough to counteract red eye. Unfortunately, in the time it takes to cycle through this process, the subject’s expression is sure to change, leaving you with a series of disjointed looks.
