15.5. Cutting and Pasting with Selections

You've seen how useful selections are for isolating parts of an image so that local changes can be made to them—tonally or with filters. Selections also are used to isolate something and then copy it somewhere else or remove it altogether. In Chapter 14, you used a selection to copy the young woman by the car to a new layer. Then you positioned this "twin" elsewhere in the image.
