4.5. #38 Expand or Contract your selection

After you create a selection, you often find that it is not quite right. That is normal. Making a perfect selection in one try can be really difficult. Luckily, Photoshop Elements has features that allow you to refine a selection and make it do what you want it to do. You can easily add to a selection or subtract from a selection as needed.

This is very important because it makes selecting easier. You do not have to worry about making a selection perfect right from the start. In fact, making your first selection very quickly and then refining that selection to the final area is often easier and faster than trying to do it entirely right as you go. No matter what you do, you will often find little jags, corners, and other odd shapes are easier to deal with after you have done your first selection work.
