Framing an Image

Adding a border to your image in GIMP is easy. Framing effects and other options are located in the Filters Image Decor menu. Figure 4-25 shows an example of the Border option. Figure 4-26 shows an example of the Round Corners option and the Slide border option.

To add a frame, follow these steps:

  1. Open an image in GIMP.
  2. Go to Filters Image Decor and choose a border type from the menu (see Figure 4-27).
  3. To save your image, go to File Image Export to save your image if it is a JPG or TIF. Or click File Image Save to save your image in GIMP's native file format of XCF.
