The two slideshow-exporting tricks described on the previous pages are so easy, the manual effort of the older “Save as QuickTime” command might seem obsolete. Unfortunately, all of the special effects and fancy graphics in iPhoto’s slideshow themes have two drawbacks: They take a lot of time to export, and they create huge files that are too big to email.
If that’s a problem, you can ditch all those preformatted slideshows and, instead, simply save an album or a selected bunch of photos as a humble set of moving pictures. Simple QuickTime movies can be as small as a megabyte and much easier to send around the Internet to friends. You can even add a little music to perk things up.
