Notes on Tone Mapping

I liked the fact that the image didn’t seem as dirty in the processing here, and it didn’t take too long to get it to a look that I liked. Increasing the Method Strength brightened the overall scene, and raising the Tone Compression brought the scene back with a cool texture and detail. The problem here, though, was that the image was still overexposed, but dropping the Exposure brought it back into an acceptable range. I added some additional textures with Contrast and Structure, and toned down the overall color in the image with Warmth. A tiny push of the Whites slider rounded out my tone mapping for this image.
