Notes on Tone Mapping

To start, with this image, I changed the Radius to a very high number and the Strength to a relatively low number. In this instance, the higher the Strength went, the more we lost detail in the horizon. The scene looked like it lost a little bit of detail, so an adjustment to the Gamma brought the detail back. I also increased the Exposure and opened up the shadows. Once the overall toning was done, I added some Detail to get more of a textured feel to the image. And then, rounding the image off, I increased the Vibrance and Saturation, and added an S-curve to bring out some contrast.
