The concept of family has changed, adapted, and shifted throughout the ineffable number of years people evolved on this planet. Written history provides you with more specific views into what family creates, not just new members of a family but the impact family has on its members and how family relates to shaping personalities.

It’s not unusual to see behaviors between family members emerge again and again. As a photographer, so much of what you do is connect with your subjects, putting sincere effort into determining what they respond to and what makes them uncomfortable. The amount of nonverbal communication going on so very often within families is like a secret language you can tune into and use to your advantage if your goal is to set your subjects at ease.
