Photographing a shoot in the studio comes with a couple of real benefits. First and foremost, from an ease of transition perspective, it’s great to have a clean, open space for clients to use the restroom, change clothes, and see how they look in the mirror. For the highly self-conscious, the studio is certainly a more appealing option, because your subjects get to see how they are looking as things progress. This can sometimes be a factor when you are on location. If your subjects want to check their hair, makeup, or the fit of their clothing and have no way to do so, they can become preoccupied and not really “there” with you.
