7.3. FRAME THE SHOT

Images of children require some special considerations. Kids are smaller, have more energy and less patience, and their latest pictures are usually in demand by family and friends. Make your images something everyone enjoys seeing by following these rules of thumb.

7.3.1. EXPERIMENT WITH ANGLES

Nothing is more boring than watching someone's slideshow with images that are all taken from the same distance and perspective, but you can create a compelling story with your images by experimenting with various angles. Take pictures from different distances and perspectives. An image shot from below your subject will look very different from one taken from above. Think about all the angles you can try, and don't forget to turn your camera from horizontal to vertical to capture elements above or below your subject. Figure 7-12 shows the viewpoint from behind the action on home plate.
