When Katie Rose, my daughter, was born very prematurely, she was given single-digit percentage chances for survival. We prepared for the wOrst. But in the days that followed, Katie Rose miraculously defied the odds.

I knew I had to photograph to tell the story-to capture the medical appliances that kept Katie Rose alive. It was also important for me to capture the emotional core of her story of hope.
