Canon PowerShot G11 Digital Field Guide Setting Up the G11 to Shoot Movies Before you begin creating videos with your new PowerShot G11, spend some time getting acclimated to the shooting modes and camera controls you'll most likely use when shooting movies. Familiarity with your equipment and knowing its capabilities go a long way toward your enjoyment and helping you get those cool clips and memo- ries you look forward to capturing with your camera. Before you press the Shutter Release button and begin recording the greatest video of all time, you have a few important decisions to make. In much the same way you set your camera up to shoot still imagery, you adjust your camera to create the look you want when shooting videos. Capture options abound on the G11 for shooting movies. White balance. Select a white balance preset that closely matches the existing ambient lighting conditions or select Auto White Balance (AWB) and the camera automatically adjusts the white balance as you shoot. This setting is ideal if you have subjects or action that moves into different lighting conditions through the course of the clip. If you know the lighting conditions won't change during the course of your clip, then feel free to select the white balance preset that matches
