Multiple Exposures

Assuming that your camera supports multiple exposures, you now have a creative tool in your pocket to create many different effects. The simplest method is the soft focus effect that is created by combining a focused and a blurred exposure. The blurrier the second exposure is, the softer the effect. As seen in the example, another option is to move the point of focus from a near point in the first exposure to a point further away in the second exposure. This is how you can combine two different focal planes in a single picture. So that the overall image will not be too light, you will need to underexpose the individual exposures with a double exposure of approximately 1 stop.
