Lens filters can be used for everything from creating special effects to correcting image problems, but before you can start using a filter, you have to figure out how to get it onto your camera.
First, check the lens on your camera for lens threads. If it isn’t threaded, you won’t be able to attach any filters, unless the camera provides some kind of filter adapter that attaches using some other kind of mount. The filter size for your lens is probably written on the end of the lens (see Figure 12.39). If not, check your manual.
