Infrared light is not visible to the human eye. However, special infrared-sensitive films can be used to capture infrared light, allowing you to capture scenes in a very different…er, light. Skies and foliage are particularly well suited to infrared photography—leafy greens will appear white and skies will be rendered with much more contrast. With the use of an infrared filter that you attach to the end of your lens, you might be able to perform infrared photography with your digital camera (see Figure 12.4).
