If you have a Canon 50D, this book is essential. The manual reads like a dictionary. David Busch's guide explains everything you could possibly want to know about the camera in plain English, augmented with many shooting tips.
I consider myself a pro photographer and felt reasonably adept with my camera. This book fills in all the gaps in my knowledge, and has opened working methods that I hadn't thought about.
The explanation of using Live View is worth the price of the book alone.
