The process of evaluation can take place at regular intervals -- you should do it after each shoot and at the end of the project. It is very helpful to evaluate the progress of your work against your proposal or your initial aims and objectives. By formally assessing and judging the value of a particular piece of work, you can begin to see what improvements can be made. We evaluate things all the time -- it's part of everyday life. It can be difficult to evaluate your own work, however, so it is useful to ask yourself a series of questions that you can answer in written form. Questions and answers The following are examples of questions asked and answered during the process of evaluation: · How well is the project going? · What improvements can I make? · How has it changed from the original project proposal? · What are the strengths of the project so far? · What aspect am I enjoying? Appraise the weaknesses and strengths of the project. Keep a record of your answers. It is easy to focus on the areas you are finding difficult or to concentrate on what isn't going well. However, it is always important to evaluate the positive aspects of a project as well as the negative. Drawing attention to what is going well and what you are enjoying is a powerful motivator. 100 Evaluation as part of the research process 3.26 Title: Project evaluation form Source: Natasha Caruana Evaluation is a fundamental part of the creative process.
