A Aperture Priority Aperture Priority Mode 28 The mode is marked A (aperture) or AV (aperture value) on the camera mode dial or menu. Aperture priority is ideal for portraiture or some garden photography, when a wide aperture is chosen to keep the background out of sharp focus. Aperture priority is a semi-automatic exposure mode. It allows the photographer to choose an aperture while the camera automatically chooses a matching shutter speed to produce a good exposure. see Auto Exposure 34, Shutter Priority 223
