2.9. Manage Stress

Once you get a handle on the various question types, do most of your practice under timed conditions so that you learn how to pace yourself.


In law school, stress arises from sources such as family expectations, fear of failure, heavy workload, competition, and difficult subjects. The LSAT tries to create similar stresses. The psychometricians (specialized psychologists who study the measurement of the mind), who contribute to the design of standardized tests, use artificial stressors to test how you will respond to the stress of law school. In other words, they are actually trying to create a certain level of stress in you.
