Summary

The Windows threading API provides support for threads, shared memory, and synchronization primitives. At the end of this chapter, you should feel comfortable with the various methods of creating threads and have an appreciation of where they might be appropriately used. You should also understand the various synchronization methods supported and be able to see the commonality with the objects provided as part of the POSIX standard.
