Importing Media into Flash

Although Flash has a vector drawing tool at its heart, it can also use a variety of other media, such as bitmap graphics and sounds. However, it isn’t capable of editing these forms of media, just displaying them.

To create bitmaps and sounds, you need to use other programs. For instance, you might use Adobe Photoshop to create bitmaps and Sound Forge to create sounds. Let’s take a brief look at these two types of media and how ActionScript can use them.
