The original edition of this book came out shortly after Flash 8 was released. Although it was designed with basic ActionScript 2 syntax in mind, I made the decision to avoid a lot of heavy OOP principles. Instead, most of the code was intended to be placed directly on the timeline. The result was a bit of a mishmash of ActionScript 1 and 2.
