2.15. Marketing Your App

Once your app has been published, you’ll want to market it to your audience.[20] Viral marketing (i.e., word-of-mouth) through social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube, can help you get your message out. These sites have tremendous visibility. According to comScore, YouTube accounts for 10% of all time spent online worldwide and Facebook accounts for a remarkable 17%.[21] Figure 2.21 lists some of the most popular social media sites. Also, e-mail and electronic newsletters are still effective and often inexpensive marketing tools.
