Safari Books Online is a digital library providing on-demand subscription access to thousands of learning resources.
Many websites that are not listed here also address AppleScript. However, the bigger portal sites have been listed. You can usually find what you're looking for by first going to one of these sites and checking their Links or Resources.
www.apple.com/applescript: The main website provided by Apple for AppleScript. From here you can find links to other information, such as sample code, documentation, other websites, training, and so on.
Under the Applications tab you can find a variety of scripts for download that are organized by application. This is a good place to learn by example how to talk to many of Mac OS X's built-in applications, such as iTunes, QuickTime Player, and Mail.
The Resources tab provides good links to other information, but it is not quite as extensive as the site at macscripter.net.
www.macscripter.net: The premiere website for AppleScript. It has an excellent archive of AppleScript scripts that you can search, in addition to providing AppleScript news and an active bulletin board where you can ask questions or find answers to some of your scripting questions.
Macscripter.net is a good place to look up AppleScript dictionaries to see the type of AppleScript support provided by an application. Check out its AppleScript Books section for a good summary of available books. Finally, this website contains a great links page to guide you to other places that may be of interest.
www.scriptweb.com: A portal site that contains links to other sites. Here you can find links to AppleScript products, news, training, and books (among other things).
www.blankreb.com/studiolog.php: Part of the Blankrebel Productions website devoted to AppleScript Studio and Cocoa programming.
www.malcolmadams.com/itunes/index.php: Doug's AppleScripts for iTunes site contains hundreds of scripts for working with iTunes and iPods. This is a great site!
www.xmethods.net: Primary website for SOAP services, which were described in Chapter 13.
www.applemods.sourceforge.net: Good place to find AppleScript libraries.
