6.5. Duplicating High-Level Conditional Branches

If you program in C, C++, Java, or any other high-level language, you probably use a lot of conditional statements that look completely different from the assembly language ones. You can mimic the high-level language functions using the assembly language code you learned in this chapter.

The easiest way to learn how to code high-level functions in assembly language is to see how the assembler does it. The following sections walk through disassembling C language functions to show how they are performed using assembly language.
