Safari Books Online is a digital library providing on-demand subscription access to thousands of learning resources.
The iPhone and iPod Touch both run a cut-down port of OS X to the ARM architecture. This does not include all of the libraries found on desktop OS X and does include a few not found on the desktop version.
The only supported development language for this platform is Objective-C. Unlike the desktop version, the iPhone does not allow the use of garbage collection. This was considered too big of an overhead for the small device.
