The book is good overall, although the depth of coverage of each topic  is fairly shallow, still it is a good quick reference for miscellaneous topics such as creating a timer, using tasks, MVC etc..

"Great walk around .Net 4" - by BlueChris on 21-JUN-2010

I really enjoyed discovering .Net 4 with this book and the examples are do a good job of demonstrating each feature.  There are many short ones plus a few quite long ones.  Also, as it just focuses on working examples, it goes quickly from fairly basic stuff to more advaned uses of each technology.

If there was any downside its that the silverlight section could do with a few more things, plus there are one or two bits of critical info missing in the book at times (one which gives the code for various classes and forms but fails to mention there is code being added to the app.xaml file to tie it all together).

But overall, this has been a good experince and I have enjoyed learning about LINQ, WPF, Silverlight and the many other topics explored.  It's also a book that would be handly for both beginners and professional developers.
