CHAPTER 7: Action Objects > Adding Sound F/X

Adding Sound F/X

Game play will almost always be more immersive with the addition of sound effects to go along with the animations. Okay, let's admit it—sound effects make almost any animation vastly more entertaining. Audio cues are also a way to give the player subtle (or not so subtle) hints. Traditionally, many adventure games even featured an entire world or level that was almost exclusively audio-based. we have provided a few sound files for this project, but you are encouraged to find more to use as we go along.

Unlike textures in Unity, sound-file conversion to a more efficient format is optional. After a sound file is added to the Asset folder, you can decide on compression, format, and load format.

  1. Copy the TestSounds folder into the Asset folder from the BookAssets folder.
