Chapter 23. Deployment > Preparing an Application for Deployment

23.1. Preparing an Application for Deployment

Before we get to the business of deploying an MVC application to IIS, we will show you techniques that are available to detect errors before an application moves into production and to maximize performance once there. We will also show you some useful features for streamlining the deployment process.

When we talk about deploying the SportsStore application, we are referring to the SportsStore.WebUI project. We don't need to separately deploy the other two projects we created. The output from the SportsStore.Domain project is included in the WebUI project, and the unit tests contained in the SportsStore.UnitTests project are not required in production.
