Workshop 3.1 Debriefing

In the earlier sections of the workshop, you created multiple lists to store common project information. How did you find the process? Straightforward, isn’t it? Without SharePoint, could you have created this as easily? Again, this is one of those things that we can build without the IT/IS department’s help.

In Part 5 of the workshop, you created a custom list displaying resource information. You then defined the columns and the types of information in the list. These custom columns are quite flexible; apart from regular text, numbers, currencies, and dates, you can also create columns that can do mathematical calculations. In a project scenario, you could create, for example, a custom list with a column that automatically calculates the variance between the baseline duration and actual duration.
