In Chapter 3, you saw a glimpse of the check-out/check-in feature when you uploaded a document to the document library. Recall that you had to check the document in before it was made available in the library. With the check-out/check-in feature (Figure 5-1), a document can be checked out from a document library, thus preventing any changes by other users until the document is checked back in.
